She's the daughter of Chief Powhatan and love interest for Captain John Smith. She and John Smith work to inspire peace between the Native Americans and colonists while proving that the land is too precious to be tampered with.

Captain John Smith

Mel Gibson is behind Captain John Smith's voice. Smith is the leader of the group of Europeans who come to the New World in search of wealth and riches. He learns from and eventually falls in love with Pocahontas and helps to prevent war between the two groups.

Governor Ratcliffe

Governor Ratcliffe's voice is that of David Ogden Stiers. He accompanies John Smith on his adventure to the New World mainly in search of riches. He's the antagonist, pushing for an aggressive stance when it comes to the Native Americans.

Meeko

Meeko's voice is supplied by John Kassir. Meeko is Pocahontas' adorably friendly raccoon friend who loves to eat.

Chief Powhatan

Chief Powhatan is Pocahontas' father and leader of the tribe. He's also promised his daughter to the top warrior in the land. He doesn't trust the settlers and almost has John Smith killed because he thinks he's the murderer of one of the people of his tribe. Pocahontas steps in, however, saves Smith, then teaches her father a lesson about mistrust and hatred of those who are different. Russell Means is the voice actor for Powhatan.

Thomas

Christian Bale provides Thomas' voice. Thomas is John Smith's friend and responsible for Kocoum's death.

Grandmother Willow

Grandmother Willow is an old willow tree full of wisdom and magic. Linda Hunt provides her voice.

Flit

He wants Pocahontas to be with Kocoum, but comes around when it's clear that John Smith is sincerely interested in learning more about Pocahontas and her people's way of life. Flit's voice is that of Frank Welker.

Kocoum

Kocoum intends to be Pocahontas' husband. He's asked her father's permission, but she has other plans. Kocoum sees Pocahontas and Smith together and attacks, but Smith's friend Thomas acts quickly and kills him instead. Kocoum's death enrages Pocahontas' father, he blames Smith, and plans to have him executed. James Apaumut Fall is the voice actor for Kocoum.
