For a delightful moviegoing experience, try Edwards movie theaters. There's a reason they've been successful since the 1930's.
Edwards Theatres History
Edwards movie theaters, known officially as Edwards Theatres, began as a family-owned business in the 1930's in California. The theaters became quite successful, with ninety locations in the California area when the founder, William James Edwards passed away in the late 1990's. Anticipating even more growth for the popular theaters, Edwards' son, W. James Edwards III, began extensive expansion plans after his father's passing. Even the best laid plans can go awry, however, and the company ultimately declared bankruptcy.
Edwards Theatres subsequently became one of the major theater operations for the Regal Entertainment Group. Edwards, along with Regal Cinemas and United Artists Theatres, make up the three major brands that help make Regal the largest movie theater chain in North America.
Most Edwards cinemas use both the Edwards and Regal logos, including new movie houses built after the acquisition.
Edwards Movie Theaters Amenities
To continue the tradition of excellence in entertainment, the majority of Edwards theaters have been renovated to include comfortable, modern stadium-style seating; contemporary restroom facilities; improved handicapped facilities; and modernized digital sound systems. Newly built Edwards locations, such as the Edwards Eastvale Gateway Stadium 14 in Mira Loma, are truly state of the art, featuring two story lobbies, ultra-comfortable full-back rocker seats, and digital projection for an enhanced movie-gong experience. Both historic and new theaters strive to offer the hottest new films, quality service, and a comfortable environment for their patrons.
Select Edwards cinemas also feature IMAX screens, Digital 3D, Independent and foreign films, and rewards programs that allow customers to earn free or reduced price snacks and beverages. Most theaters feature many screens, so patrons have ample choice of current movies.
